Plastic Extrusion OperatorOperators are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of plastic extrusion equipment that is used to produce the poly material used for mud flap manufacturing. Perform work quality checks and monitor machine output.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Work safely and be actively engaged in site safety programs.Starting up extruder, monitoring material flow and adjusting extruder equipment for production.Making extraction process adjustments to control sheet output.Provide maintenance or calibration of machine to ensure material is running properly.Safely operate a Forklift and overhead crane to move material or equipment as needed.Excellent attendance & punctuality.Maintain a clean work environment.Cross train in other areas and perform other duties as assigned.Required Skills and AbilitiesBasic math skillsMechanically inclined, understanding of hand tools and quality tools (i.e. screw drivers, hammers, calipers, tape measurer, etc.)Detailed oriented, organized, and motivatedExcellent time management skillsAbility to understand spoken and written EnglishPrevious Forklift experienceAbility to work overtime as neededAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsPhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Work is performed in a factory setting.Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.Regular lifting, sometimes up to Thirty pounds with occasionally up to 50 pounds.Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.Must wear gloves; eye and ear protection only in marked areas where required.Composite or Steel-toe shoes are required.Preferred Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent GEDExperience working with profiled extrusion and sheet line experience a plus.Prior experience using production machinery.Previous Forklift experience.6am-2:30pm M-F
