Role Description

\n

The Public Relations Intern (Paid, Part-Time, On-Site) will support day-to-day PR and marketing activities for clients in the financial advisory industry. They will assist with drafting press releases, coordinating media outreach, and supporting the execution of strategic communication plans.

\n

\n

Typical tasks include researching industry trends, compiling media lists, tracking coverage, and preparing reports and briefing materials. The intern will help manage social and digital communication channels, proofread and edit content, and collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of client projects.

\n

\n

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Foundational skills in Digital Marketing, Public Relations, and Media Relations, with the ability to support client-facing initiatives
\n
• Experience or coursework in News Releases and Strategic Communications, including drafting and adapting messages for different audiences (B2B and B2C)
\n
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to detail and clarity in messaging
\n
• Ability to conduct research, organize information, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
\n
• Interested in the full spectrum of Credibility Marketing and how Owned, Earned, Shared and Paid work together to build visibility, authority, and ultimately, brand gravity
\n
• Proficiency with standard office software and comfort working with digital and social media platforms (Google Workspace, Google Docs, Google Sheets, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram)
\n
• Familiarity with Meltwater, Business Wire, Canva, Riverside, ChatGPT, Adobe Creative products, or similar platforms is a plus
\n
• Reliable and trustworthy with a friendly business persona
\n
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism -- or a related field -- is a plus (important note: we are looking for the right person, not just a piece of paper, and self-starters / eager learners are valued)
\n
• Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and willingness to learn within a team-oriented setting
\n
• Interest in or familiarity with the financial advisory or professional services industry is a plus
\n
• Interest in growing into a larger role with the firm over time as fit and traction becomes real
\n
• Knowing someone on our team or having a connection through one of our communities of interest (e.g., UVU, Loyola, KU, FPA, NAPFA, T3) is icing on the cake
\n
